The International Summer School: Innovations in public services design and delivery (InnPubServ) is designed for Master students in Business administration, Public management, Public policy, Economics, Political Science and Law interested in entering the field of public management and/or in enhancing their knowledge on current developments in public management. In a cooperation between German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish universities:

We invite Master students from partner universities from Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany with the following objectives in mind:

  • Raise mutual understanding by discussing Southern European and German perspectives of Public Services Design and Delivery;
  • Enhance students’ ability to creative thinking by understanding methods and challenges of modern public management and innovation management;
  • Increase students’ awareness for the public sector as an interesting employer.

Conditions of admission

Students eligible to attend the summer school have to fulfil the following conditions of admission:

  • Master student of Business administration, Public management, Public policy, Economics, Political Science and Law
  • Ability to understand and actively participate in lectures in English
  • Interest in the field (proven by a motivation letter).

The students go through the following application procedure:

  • Till end of April/2019 (14 May/2019 for students from Modena): Students’ application in English:
    • Application form (see this webpage),
    • Curriculum vitae,
    • Recent transcript of records,
    • Motivation letter.

The application form and the corresponding ducments are to be submitted electronically via this webpage (see link below)

  • Admission / Rejection sent by organizer by midst of May 2019 (end of May 2019 for students from Modena).

Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Good academic achievements (building on transcript of records) compared to other applicants;
  • Sufficient English writing skills (application documents and motivation letter);
  • Motivation to study public management (building on the motivation letter).

Universität Rostock veranstaltet Sommerschule in Modena

Bis Ende Oktober 2019 wird an der Universität Rostock erstmals ein Master-Modul zum Thema „Innovations in Public Services Design and Delivery“ angeboten. Bereits im September fand hierzu eine erste Präsenzwoche in Modena, Italien statt. Insgesamt nehmen 30 Studierende aus Italien, Spanien, Portugal und Deutschland daran teil.

Die Kurse und Workshops sollen die teilnehmenden Studierenden anregen, durch den Austausch südeuropäischer und deutscher Perspektiven, ein Verständnis für die Ausgestaltung öffentlicher Dienstleistungen zu entwickeln. Verschiedene Vorträge innerhalb der Kurse und Workshops dienen dazu, den Studierenden sowohl die Methoden und Herausforderungen des modernen Public und Innovationmanagements zu vermitteln, als auch dazu, ihnen den öffentlichen Sektor als Arbeitgeber näherzubringen.

Unter der Organisation der Sommerschule durch die Universität Rostock und der Universität Modena und Reggio Emilia in Italien, beteiligten sich auch die Universitäten Potsdam, Minho (Portugal), Salerno (Italien) und Zaragoza (Spanien) an dem Projekt. Im Rahmen des Programms „Hochschuldialog mit Südeuropa“ fördert der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) die Sommerschule mit rund 19.000 Euro.
